APPLY FOR  DADENI

If you've read through all the information on these Dadeni pages, and the call is still singing in your bones, and are confident that you can meet what this programme will ask of you, then here are the details for the 2027-2030 programme.

THE LOGISTICS

COSTS: £745 per retreat - this includes all accommodation, catering and tutoring costs. It also covers online teaching and check-in sessions, of which there is one of each, between retreats, and programme administration. There are 6 retreats across the three years (no more than 2 per year). You commit to attending all 6 retreats. They run for 4 nights from Wednesday afternoon to Sunday afternoon. Accommodation is on a shared (single sex, gender considered) basis. Usually rooms range between 2 - 5 beds.

PRACTICAL CONSIDERATIONS

We invite applications so that we can gather groups that have a broad cross-section of age, gender, background, skills and abilities. We are gathering a spiritual and ceremonial community, and have found that all are best served by inviting variety and difference into the space. We know that the idea of 'applying' can be daunting. It is a very simple set of questions aimed at helping us get to know you.

We have found that this programme is best suited to adults over 25 years old with some experience of life, spiritual enquiry and practice.

The programme does require a degree of physical fitness and mobility. Our explorations often take us to upland areas for hikes over hilly and uneven terrain of 5- 8 miles a day (once per retreat, twice in the final retreat), though we take this slow and steady with stops for stories and ceremony along the way.

Additionally, as this is an initiatory process, you will need a degree of psychological robustness and sensitivity. Spiritual enquiry at this deep level can exacerbate mental health issues. We ask that you feel confident that you are able to mentally and emotionally engage with this three-year process, healthily and safely before applying.

You do not have to hail from these lands to benefit from this programme. It is about connection with the land you are on.

TIMINGS & PROCESS

The application process will close on 10th January. Our team will then read through them all and discuss how we put the groups together. Your information remains confidential within our applications team, made up of selected tutors and alumni. We will be in touch in mid-to-late February. The first retreat for both groups falls in November 2027. The exact dates for these first retreats are: Group 1: 3-7 November 2027, Group 2: 24-28 November 2027. If you are applying, please mark these dates in your diary now.

Places are confirmed by the payment of a deposit. You can pay the programme in instalments. We try our best to keep costs low on this programme and support those on lower incomes by spreading the cost monthly. Most of the costs are for accommodation and catering. While we try our best to keep retreat costs the same across the three years, we reserve the right to adjust costs if accommodation or catering prices rise suddenly and beyond our control.

If you have any questions or simply wish to meet us and speak to some of our Alumni before applying, we will be holding a FREE, ONLINE OPEN EVENING on TUESDAY 5th January 7-8.15pm. Go to our events page to register for the link.

Guiding Principles & Values

Nyt o vam athat. Pan ym digonat. Am creu am creat. O nawrith llafant. O ffwyth o frwytheu. O ffwyth duw dechreu. O vriallu a blodeu bre. O vlawt gwyd a godeu O prid o pridret. Pan ym digonet . O vlawt danat. O dwfyr ton nawvet.

Not of mother and father, When I was made, Did my Creator create me. Of nine-formed faculties, Of the fruit of fruits, Of the fruit of the primordial God, Of primroses and blossoms of time hill, Of the flowers of trees and shrubs. Of earth, of an earthly course, When I was formed. Of the flower of nettles, Of the water of the ninth wave.

Cad Goddeu ~ Taliesin

Nine moons of making, nine bardic laws, nine waves of wisdom, nine.....

These are the nine principles which guide the work of DADENI Spirit School
  • To know: learning about our past in order to understand our present and consciously create our future

  • To be: in increasingly deep connection to place, nature, ourselves, spirit / source

  • To honour: the ancestors, spirit of place, nature, land, ourselves and each other

  • To listen: deeply to the land, to divine what is asked of us

  • To ask: working with indigenous elders from other traditions in order to learn and deepen our own practice

  • To dare: deep, creative, boundary-breaking exploration and innovation informed by knowledge, experience and intuition.

  • To create: we encourage expression in all forms, vocal, physical, artistic, literary and ceremonial

  • To give: to channel our knowledge, experience and energy for the good of others and our Earth

  • To love: finding a deeper connection with ourselves (our past and future), with others, with our Earth and the universe through this work.

THE NINE AGREEMENTS  OF PARTICIPANTS
  • To bring an open, enquiring mind to this work and a courageous, loving heart

  • To bring the best of yourself to the group and work with your highest integrity

  • To be tolerant of others within the group regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation or background, acknowledging that everyone’s learning and life journey is different

  • To be responsible with what you learn and how and when you share it with others

  • To bring your own gifts and knowledge to this work and share them appropriately with an open heart

  • To commit to attending all six retreats over the three years, knowing that it will not always be convenient and may clash with other important things in your life, understanding that this is both a deep personal and transformational journey as well as a group journey of mutual support, made together.

  • To acknowledge that your time is no more valuable than anyone else’s, and therefore commit to being punctual to sessions

  • To come to the retreats clean of any substances that may impact upon your presence, focus and capacity to participate fully in the work, including mind-altering drugs and alcohol

  • To understand that this is the beginning of a journey, not the end

We ask that each participant agree to adhere to this code throughout the three-year programme

"Dadeni is now a part of my life, my journey, who I am. It will remain with me in a way that very few other things have or will. I now have another family, a circle of friends, a council, a set of elders, a mirror, a school, a team, a set of cheerleaders cheering me on, a comedy troupe! As I write this, I sit in a deep, light-filled pool of gratitude - it has been life-changing."

~ Dawn, Dadeni Alumna, 2021
The application process for our next Dadeni cohort is now open! Two new groups will begin their three-year initiary journey in November 2027. Applications close on January 10th, 2027. Before filling in an application form, please read through all the information on this page and make sure that you can meet this calling fully.

Please note, in consideration of the fragility of our climate and ecosystems, we are not accepting overseas applications at this time to avoid encouraging long distance flights and travel twice a year. We continue to consider how we might offer an alternative to those wishing to undertake this programme internationally. Please join our mailing list to be kept informed of developments.

Dadeni is like nothing else you will have experienced. It’s a rebirth of the traditions of this land, of community and connection. It has impacted every part of my world, and how I am living and thriving. What a wonderful journey!

Bridget Rowan, 2026

Do it! Our world, the people in your life and those you’ll never meet, the animals and wild kin of this planet need you to do it!
Dadeni stripped away masks and layers of armour, pairing me back to myself. Edges were met… but the support of Angharad and the team made me feel seen, heard and eventually brave enough to meet those edges and become the change I wish to see in the world.

Megan Westpfel, 2026

Dadeni has been a potent journey -  I feel so very different.... more grounded in myself, more at ease with all of me, and able to see a broader perspective. Dadeni has opened my eyes: I have new skills, new experiences that have deepened my knowledge of who I am, how I relate to myself and others, and a potent cognisance of the magic of all that is... awen.

Jason Schroder, 2021

DADENI GATEWAYS

On your three-year Dadeni journey, we will open many 'gateways' that are part of the warp and weft of the Brythonic wisdom tradition of these Isles. You will become attuned to some more than others, but each acts as a portal into the tradition. Some are specific areas of learning, others are enquiries that unfold and deepen throughout the journey. Hover and click on the images for a flavour of the subjects we explore over the three years.
